Memories alone can ruin you. Fear has a paralyzing effect, and love isn’t always enough to keep you safe.

Ace was the gateway to a freedom I hadn’t known since I was fifteen. He offered his protection from the demons that haunted me; both living and dead.

Although I knew I wasn’t enough to keep him, this didn’t deter my hope that one day he’d love me for who I was, not the broken girl he tried so desperately to save.

In the end, the ghosts of my past found me. Their malevolence knew no bounds, and I was forced to succumb to their will of darkness. Each threat named against those I loved made any escape impossible; choosing my life for theirs became my desolate absolution.

Inevitably, it was my own weakness and self-doubt that became my undoing.

Emotional ties are sometimes severed. Friendships don’t always endure their hardships, and love offered isn’t always returned.

I was in love once. For me, leaving her back in Ohio was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. For her, moving on with her life that included her son and the man she loved was no less than she deserved — unconditional happiness.

My reasons to bring Cherry home to California were obvious. I needed help with my family, and she needed help staying clean and convincing her parents she was ready to give her son the life he deserved.

It was a perfect plan. However, the best laid plans often get lost amidst their best intentions.

Cherry fell in love with me, and in return my love for her acted as the catalyst to her destruction.

BIreview

Hey guys! It’s Jen again! I’m dropping in to do another guest review for a book that I am super excited to share with you guys! Be ready to see more of me…I am now an official member of the Breathless Ink team!

Ladies, ladies, ladies – let me tell you about “Ace”.

GoodNESS is this man a handful! Sexy, controlling, and overbearing… He’s everything you love and hate about a man. He’s been broken and left at the bottom of nowhere. He has loved with everything within himself and given a shattered heart in return. With hopes of getting some sense of normalcy back in his life he does what we think most men would do given the opportunity…. He goes HOME. To his Grandma Bean and little sister Sarah. However, he does not go alone. He has a chance to help “Cherry” get her life back on track for the one thing she loves most in this world. Her son Decklan. California is the perfect escape for the broken hearted and beat down soul. Ace wants to make sure Cherry has the chance to get clean and stay that way so she can get her son back. This is the best option for both of them. Even if it’s deeper for Cherry than it is himself.

Raegan “Cherry”, has been beaten, bent, used up and cast aside. The nightmares of her past are so real she lives in terror constantly. Having everything taken from her, and concerned for her baby’s safety – she leaves him with her parents to escape the darkness that surrounds her life. This young girl sets out for unknown world and finds even more tragedy. How much can one girl take? Will she get her savior? Can she step out of someone else’s shadow and be seen with the love she so deserves? Ace is gonna give her a chance to make her world right again. And by God she is gonna take it, because she isn’t broken yet.

For Cherry it’s a love like she has never known. For Ace it’s giving a girl a chance for a new beginning. With new challenges and despair falling around them – they are strained to within the barest of threads. Can she survive this time? Will he see what’s been right in front of him for so long before it’s too late? Will these two stubborn souls collide together with the likeness of an atom bomb? Or will nothing change? Will this have been all for nothing?

I loved this book and it’s emotional riptide it took me on. I was privileged enough to have received a reviewer copy from AC Bextor and boy was I smitten! I had never heard of AC before, even with not knowing the background behind Ace and Cherry going in – I was able to follow and fall in love with their story. With the release of this book due October 3rd – I hope you all heed my advice when I say STALK THIS RELEASE— You aren’t gonna want to miss this one! If are a fan of AC’s Lights of Peril series you are definitely going to want to see if Ace gets his Redemption. I have heard he was not a favorite in her Peril books – not to worry – after this one, you’ll fall so hard you can’t see straight. Keep an eye on this series ladies – you’re gonna be blown away!

BIAuthorbio

ACBextorI love to read! I will read anything, literally. It may be a magazine, book, advertisement or even a cereal box. Specific authors that I follow have moved me to start writing. Before long that inspiration had produced a final product that I wasn’t even sure what I was going to do with. Obviously I hit publish and here I am.

Blessed with a great family that includes my husband, four kids, two dogs, and one hedgehog, I’ve lived in the Midwest all of my life. We currently live in a small town outside of Omaha, NE. My day job affords the ability to work from home and I’ve worked for the same lending company for nearly 19 years.

When I’m not reading, I try to be outside as much as possible even if it is just sitting on my deck with my reading device. I enjoy fishing, swimming, hockey games, and watching football with the family.

Have you added Ace’s Redemption to your TBR list yet?!?
