Wow! I really enjoyed this book… It’s hilarious and heartfelt at the same time. This poor girl’s luck just flat out sucks. Avery is a pretty “real” girl ­ by that I mean ­ you can see a little of yourself in her character,  ven in the simplest of her actions. From embarrassing herself in front of a hot guy to waging an internal battle on how to reveal something devastatingly important… I just wanted to wrap her up in a hug or hold her hand while her life played out. She is in desperate need of a fresh start! I couldn’t imagine having to go through what she has. I gotta give her credit though,­ she owns her mishaps and doesn’t let them slow her down. She may rise slowly ­but she rises with purpose, and that’s really all that matters.

Thank goodness for Jonah! Lmao, everyone has that “one friend” who supports us and doesn’t let us drown in self pity. He’s the cookie cutter gay friend that brightens your day with a simple gesture. A burgeoning artist with a flair for the dramatic, Avery is perfect material for his drama addiction. Who doesn’t need a best friend that will indulge you when you’re down and out? I loved Jonah’s character, he is exuberant and loveable… And just plain awesome! I hope he finds love next!!

Ugh! Avery is totally diggin on you and yet you string her along as though the chemistry is not effecting you as well… It’s a good thing Avery loves you ya stubborn ass! He’s aloof and distant and shuts down at the drop of a kiss all while denying his feelings for Avery :/ talk about frustrating! His ex left him broken hearted and damaged, but everything about Avery screams perfection to him. His feelings reciprocate her’s so why can’t he just man up? He takes far too much time figuring his shit out for me ­ I would have told him to take a hike, lol. (Guess it’s a good thing Avery isn’t like me )

The sex is earth shattering and soul deep it grips them both and takes them past the point of no return. Finding comfort in one another comes easily for them ­ Allowing it to happen is much more difficult. Simple touches and sweet kisses undermine their true feelings. Passionately powerful surprise make out sessions leave them both yearning for more.

It’s refreshing and hopeful, ­while at the same time, sad and desirous. I hope you give this story a shot. Gypsy has turned tragedy into a new beginning with the trials that come with starting anew and it’s an awesome journey!

Alright, so I thoroughly covered my feelings on MC novels while reviewing Ride, book one in the series, so I will try not to bring that up…much! I will say that Thrash took some of my 10 reasons I LOATHE MC books a bit further than Ride did…but hey…no one is perfect! Honestly, with the plot line of Thrash I sort of expected it to be a bit on the rough side.

Thrash doesn’t pick up where I thought it would. In my mind I pictured the books sort of picking up where the last one finished…boy was I wrong! JC Emery decided to challenge herself and write a sort of continuity series, like the Wedding Dare series, where each book overlaps and we see some scenes over and over again from different POVs. This means that with Thrash following Duke and Nic we get to see a few things that the doors were closed in our faces on in Ride. While Ryan is totally still an asshat and I don’t care for him…reading Thrash caused me to second guess a few things and have a much better understanding of why he behaved the way that he did. It doesn’t clear him of all wrong doing towards Alex…but it does make his “hot and cold” attitude make a bit more sense.

Let’s talk story line and characters in Thrash.

Unlike Ride, Thrash focuses solely on the biker side of things. We still get the action and suspense from the mafia issues but it’s a bit different. Nic, the step-daughter of a Forsaken that is in prison, has a lot of responsibilities on her shoulders. Nic not only has to take care of herself, she also has to keep her 17 year old brother in line as well as try to figure out a way to get her dad out of prison. She was raised in this world and knows exactly what it means to be a Lost Girl…and an Old Lady. She has done everything in her power to avoid the one biker that can do major damage to her…but after one drunken encounter her life gets a lot more complicated. Growing up with her mom as a club whore, even once a decent man claimed her, made Nic a bit rough around the edges and bitter towards the life. Even though she knows what it means and doesn’t exactly like it, she somehow manages to become a Lost Girl in order to let loose and forget about some of her troubles.

Duke…mmm…Duke! I don’t know about you guys but Duke’s straight forward, brutally honest, and extremely sexual self totally caught my attention in Ride. Even if he was a total douche for what he did with Alex…he was still a sexy as sin douche! Anyways, moving on from his sexy side…Joshua “Duke” Wilcox is the Sexretary…I mean Secretary for the Forsaken. Duke has had a “thing” for Nic since high school and when he finally gets his hands on her he realizes that for her he is willing to give up sleeping around and have an Old Lady. Unfortunately for Duke…Nic isn’t going to make things easy. Her strength and independence that has drawn him to her may just be the death of their relationship. 

When Duke realizes that something more is going on with Nic than he, or any of the Forsaken, realized he knows that he has to step up and make sure that she is taken care of. But is he too late?

Chemistry? Romance?

With Duke and Nic there is definitely chemistry…these two are so explosive I can’t even begin to explain it. It is easy to see that both of them have spent so much time fighting their sexual attraction that they have lost sight of themselves. They are both sleeping around and being…well…slutty in order to keep away from the other. I can’t say that I approve of the slutty behavior, but hey..who am I to judge? Needless to say, when Duke and Nic finally let go and give in to the sexual tension…well there is a reason this book is named Thrash! The sex between these two is anything but sweet and gentle…it is rough, dirty and just plain fun!

Romance…hmm was there romance in Thrash? Actually yes! Not as much as you would find in a traditional contemporary romance novel…but it was there! Duke made a show in front of his “brothers” and played the part of asshole very well. However, when it was just the two of them…Duke showed that he has a whole different side of himself. He can be sweet and thoughtful…now don’t get me wrong…he is always in control and demanding…basically he is always a Forsaken. But when the lights go down and it’s just him and Nic…he has his moments of almost lovey-dovey!

That being said…Duke screws up…A LOT! He sleeps around, he gets pissy, he doesn’t think things through…he is your basic Forsaken biker dude! I can’t imagine how Nic felt while trying to overcome some of the positions Duke put her in…I mean just wow! I’m not sure I could forgive so easily. Because of all of Duke’s screw ups, I felt like I missed out on the good times. They were constantly at one another’s throats for some reason and it made it so that I honestly wasn’t sure if they SHOULD be together…maybe they weren’t good for each other. Once things settle down a little and they stop fighting their attraction, I changed my mind. If they can both control their tempers I think they could be VERY good for each other….that’s a big if though.

Nic’s character evolves greatly from the beginning of the book to the end. She comes across as strong and flippant in the beginning. However, over time we learn that maybe that isn’t exactly true. Maybe what we are seeing is more of a mask that she wants the world to see. Nic has had some pretty shitty things happen to her in life and unfortunately being a Forsaken’s daughter didn’t stop it. Watching as Nic grows and becomes even stronger was heart wrenching and wonderful. Some of it was a bit difficult to read…but I understand why it had to be in there as well. (For example…the wrench scene…goodness…I will never look at a wrench the same way again! Hehe JC did add in a touch of humor there for us….Jeremy stating that he will never give Nic attitude again was priceless! Oh and a little later on Duke making it clear that Nic isn’t allowed around his tools in the garage was just as great!)

Over all, Thrash is a very deep, very dark, and very good book. I am totally addicted to JC Emery’s writing style, it is so raw and real that it drags me, kicking and screaming, in to the story whether I want to be there or not. Thrash is a fast paced, drama filled and action packed book that doesn’t have a dull moment in sight!

The beginning of this review has VERY LITTLE to do with the Bayonet Series…just let me rant for a minute please

OOOHHH MC (motorcycle club) BOOKS HOW I LOATHE YOU…let me count the ways….

**Please envision the following: toe tapping, severe eye rolling, heavy sighs, head cocked to the side as I tick off annoying points on my fingers….**

1. Guys that make the term Alpha-Male equate to “Ass-hat”….
2. Excessive drugs…sex…and rock-n-roll….okay so maybe not rock and roll…but it’s a part of the saying dang it!
3. Degrading behavior towards women…club whores and old ladies. The humiliation, cheating and debauchery is just down right wrong!
4. Realistic dialogue….I know what you’re thinking…how is that bad? Well…the constant grammatically incorrect speech is like nails on a chalkboard to me. Can’t we have one book where a biker can at least speak somewhat properly???
5. Extreme language…I’m pretty sure some of these books would make sailors blush!
6. Violence….violence and more violence.
7. Lots and lots of leather….not sure this is really a bad thing…I mean sexy men in lots of leather…hmmm…
8. The inability to call a woman something other than “bitch”…and the few times they manage it…well it’s typically worse!
9. The lack of anything even remotely romantic between characters…
10. The fact that as much as I don’t want to….I enjoy them! I hate to love these books…but they hook me in and I can’t put them down…even with all of the crap they throw at me!

Okay…so now you have heard me rant…you have giggled at my excessive and indecisive arguments on why I hate to love MC Books…let’s talk about JC Emery’s Ride…because dang it if this book isn’t one of the best MC books I have read! I’ll admit it…I was hooked from page one and never looked back!

After reading the synopsis of Ride I was intrigued and just HAD to give it a shot…even with my quite strong and extremely negative feelings towards MC books…the story line just sounded too awesome NOT to read! What’s not to love about a book series where the Italian Mafia meets a biker gang?!? It would be difficult for this book not to rock and the way that JC Emery writes makes you feel like a part of the story whether you want to be or not.

What about the story line?

As you can guess from the synopsis and my thoughts on it…the story line is AMAZEBALLS! It is unique, captivating, emotional, scarring (yes I said that), raw, real, deep…so many damn descriptions fit this story line it’s hard to choose just one. JC Emery has created a fast-paced, white knuckled grip on your Kindle story that will leave you begging for more! In Ride, we get a dual POV that switches between Alex, the mafia Principessa, and Ryan (Trigger), the sexy as sin biker. I honestly wish we had gotten a bit more from Ryan’s POV…maybe then I could relate to him more and would be able to see him as more than a douche…because honestly I HATED Ryan. I have read MC books before where I started out hating a character and the author manages to turn things around for me…make me care about them. (Check out the Sons of Sangue series for an example.) Ryan is NOT one of those characters. I hated him from the first time we met him and I still hate him now! But we aren’t talking about characters yet…we are still on the story line….more to come on my intense hatred of Ryan later!

Back to the story! When these two worlds collide things get crazy! While the mafia and a biker gang may seem to be completely different…there are quite a few similarities in my eyes. Especially when it comes to a woman’s place. They are expected to be seen and not heard…dude…I would SUCK at this life! lol I am far from quiet and I don’t like being ordered around that’s for sure! Not to mention the danger that comes from living both of these lives. Ride is a fast paced, dark and dirty book with a ton of twists and turns to keep you on your toes! There were so many moments throughout this story that all I could think or say was “What the fuck?? No way that just happened!” Overall, the story is epic and intense…it will leave you with a ton of questions and emotions that you may not know how to deal with.

I was angry…

I was scared…

I was pissed…

I was annoyed…

I was excited…

I was terrified…

more than anything…I was hooked!

Now about the characters.

I started talking about Ryan Stone, AKA Trigger, earlier so let’s start with his petulant, annoying, bastard self shall we? Let’s see…Ryan is an officer in the Forsaken motorcycle club…I don’t remember his full title…something about Road Crew…or Street Leader…or heck if I know…basically he is in charge of how the bikers line up when they ride, among other things. Ryan is the club president’s son and a real piece of work. Honestly, I’m not sure if JC Emery wanted us to like him or not…it doesn’t come across that way. The little added bit at the end of the book where we get to re-read a few chapters from his POV really helped me understand him a bit better. However, he is still an asshole that I don’t like. Even with me hating him and understanding why he did some of the things that he did…he is a GOOD character. He is well developed, deep and evokes some pretty strong emotions from me as a reader. I lost count of how many times I wanted to hit him…or how many times I was literally screeching at my Kindle over some crap he pulled! JC definitely did a great job in writing him. No matter how much I hate him, I can’t see this story working or the plot line flowing as well without him.

When I was reading reviews of Ride the majority seemed to focus on Ryan being a shitty person….but what they don’t seem to realize is that for them to have that strong of a reaction to him he is a well written character. Yeah he is a douche and I hate him…but he is a damn good character and the story wouldn’t work any other way. In my opinion you need to remember what you are reading…this is a biker book and he is a young guy. If you are looking for a sweet, romantic and love-dovey book…move on because this is not the book for you!

Alexandra Mancuso is the Princepessa of the Italian Mafia…she has been raised to understand her role in life from an early age…but when things pop up that cause her to realize the little bit of freedom she expected will never happen she gets a bit freaked out. She is only 19 years old…and yet she has some pretty serious decisions she has to make when she accidentally gets in the middle of a gun fight. Little does she know that her decisions during those moments will change her life forever. When Alex finds herself on the other side of the country in the home of the president of a biker gang she has no idea what to think. These crazy bikers have saved her life…but at what cost? Her father will never let her go, not after what she has done. When she realizes that she is falling for the biggest bastard ever, one she has been told specifically to stay away from, her life gets even more hectic than it was before.

As a couple these two are explosive. Both know that they aren’t good for the other…and yet they aren’t willing to stay away. Ryan is a young (20 something) man with hormones that usually end up with him being with a different club whore most nights of the week. He isn’t used to having feelings…let alone the kind that make him want to be with just one person. I know that I said I hate him…and I do…but I also get it. The first time he feels something for a girl/woman it just has to be for the one woman that could cost him his patch? The Forsaken is his life, his family, his blood…but Alex is quickly becoming just as big of a part of it. To make matters worse, Ryan knows that having Alex be a part of his life will only cause her more troubles…he honestly doesn’t think he is worth it. (Or at least that is my view on the situation.) The sexual tension between these two is insane! I was honestly a little scared for Alex when she and Ryan finally manage some alone time…I wasn’t sure if it would be the type of explosion that leaves them clinging to one another and panting for breath…or the kind that leaves you hunting for body parts with no idea how you got here or what you are supposed to do now.

While Ride is definitely a romance novel…it sure isn’t a typical one! Ride is what I would categorize as a DARK Romance. The roller coaster ride that these two go on is intense and one that I’m not sure I could have survived. Ryan is a dick that sleeps around and screws up a lot. Alex is a spoiled kid that makes some pretty stupid decisions and cries a ton…but somehow they figure out a way to work things out. I do wish that there had been more HEA or romance in general in the story. I get that MC books aren’t all lovey-dovey and all that jazz, but I’m just not sure if maybe this one went a bit over board on the harsh crap. The way the characters treat one another is harsh to say the least and was difficult to read at times. With that being said, what JC Emery managed to pull off in this book is crazy! Each page of Ride is filled with action, suspense, sexual tension and a touch of humor and romance. Reading this book left me dizzy and a tad bit pissed, but in a way that had me digging for the next book in the series!

So again I am to this place where I think…OOOOH how I hate MC books! But…well…I didn’t hate Ride!

Yep, Ryan is an asshat that makes me so mad I want to throw things….but he is a character that has been written so damn well that you can’t help but react to him.

Drugs…sex…again yeah those are there and they are a huge part of the book. But they are described in such a way that makes me feel like I understand why these big, bad, biker boys do what they do.

Degrading behavior towards women? Oh hell yeah…this one almost TAKES OVER the entire story! It was difficult to read and relate to…most of the time I found myself shaking my head and saying that I would NEVER let someone treat me that way.

Realistic dialogue…well yeah! But it honestly wasn’t as bad as some books. I could even understand these guys!

Don’t get me started on the extreme language! I curse (heck I’ve done it quite a bit in this review…) but just wow! I’m pretty sure JC hit some world records with the creative uses of the words “Fuck” and “Bitch” in this one! Yet somehow it didn’t bother me, it just felt natural for the biker boys and therefor totally okay to me.

Violence….this book didn’t go overboard on the violence but it is definitely there. Again, JC manages to write it in a way that I could handle reading.

Lots and lots of leather…hehe yep that one was covered, but these bikers tend to wear jeans and a t-shirt under their cut…

Luckily the “bitch” calling issue wasn’t too bad in Ride….it was thrown around a bit, but not overdone.

The lack of anything even remotely romantic between characters…well yeah. Sadly, there isn’t a ton of “romance” in Ride. Part of me wishes that there had been…but then again a bigger part of me knows that had JC worked in more “romance” it would have felt forced and unnatural. The way things flow in Ride is perfect and believable. 

Well, while I hate to love MC books, I HIGHLY recommend Ride. It’s tough, dirty, and all out crazy….but the story is so perfectly executed that all I can say is buckle up buttercup, hold on tight and enjoy the ride!

The first few chapters had me hooked and lost all at the same time! While I had an idea of what was going on, the way that Lilliana Anderson writes is so flawless and beautiful that I just wanted to take it slow and find out when it was time!

The characters are well developed, deep and relatable. Simply put they are REAL! I felt myself drawn to them on a level that I don’t remember feeling in a while. The story line is so convoluted and mixed up and twisted in an awesome way that it keeps the reader focused and paying close attention so that we can hopefully figure out the mystery!

Mia, Eric, Cayd, Natalie, Josh and Louise…what a set of people to get to know! I ADORED the way the book is written from all of their points of view! It really added a depth to the book and characters that I’m not sure could have been there otherwise. (I do sort of wish that it had been written in first person instead…but it wasn’t a deal breaker for me.)

*SIGH* It’s hard to get into the story line without spoilers so I won’t really cover much there. Just know that it is absolutely freaking amazing and one of a kind! The amount of important and real life issues that Lilliana Anderson manages to fit into this story is incredible. I am awed by her ability to flawlessly merge serious topics with romance and mystery. While this is a love story, there are some pretty dark and serious matters that pop up and I felt that that made the story feel real and made it captivating.

The ending is a bit odd…I feel that people will have one of two reactions…”WTF, how can they just let that go!” or “I totally get that…she has issues but still deserves to be happy.” I honestly think I lean more towards the first…but hey everyone has their own opinions!

I can straight up say that this was the most unique story line I have read in a long time! It was so well written that I couldn’t put it down. I felt like a part of the story and often found my heart pounding and tears filling my eyes. I cannot wait to read the next book and find out what happens now!

JUST DAMN! This book took the Tattoo Thief series to a who new level! It filled in all of the gaps that I felt were in the first two and then added in a touch of mystery and thrill for added benefit! Not only that, but Revenge Bound is a dual POV book, unlike the first two in the series. I felt that this added a new depth to the characters and story and pulled me in even deeper!

I love that each book overlaps a bit so we see a few important scenes from different perspectives. it really adds a whole new understanding to the story

We met Violet in the last book and I had a feeling that she may be a bigger part in the future. She was such a shy character and I really enjoyed getting to see what was eating at her. Having the books overlap a bit truly was a genius idea on Heidi Joy Tretheway’s part. Doing this added a new depth to the characters and the plot line and made sure that as a reader I understood where each character was coming from and why they behaved certain ways. I’m not sure that this book would have rocked quite as much if it weren’t done this way.

Jayce is the biggest player I have ever read about…I mean seriously! He takes the idea of being a rock-star and having groupies to a whole new level of low! I just knew I was going to hate him…I mean what redeeming qualities could he possibly have? 

Well damn if I wasn’t wrong! Jayce is one heck of a man. He is sexy, strong, protective and sexy…did I mention sexy? 

When Violet’s ex puts some not so flattering pictures of her up on the internet and adds in her name, address and phone number it leads to one hell of a story! Jayce is determined to protect Violet at all costs and breaks all of his rules in the process. 

The chemistry and sexual tension between these two is EXPLOSIVE! I’m not sure how they managed to wait as long as they did! Seriously, every time they are in a scene together I was sweating and panting and hoping that this would be the one! These guys were just made for each other. Trust me when I say that when they finally let loose…it is more than worth the wait!

Revenge Bound is overflowing with love, lust, tension, fear, suspense, mystery, humor, and just plain romance! The way the story ends is perfect and gives just enough of a cliff hanger that I am dying for the next book…I so want Dave’s story! I NEED to know what happens!

The story line in this book is amazing! I love that Heidi Joy Tretheway works in a real life issue with this book. Revenge Porn is huge and it’s disappointing that the laws aren’t stronger on this type of thing. It is always nice when an author pulls of an epic love story and works in a real life issue to help people learn more about it and the consequences and damages it causes. With the world today revolving around technology it is even more important that we share the ease with which personal photos can and are shared with the world. The side effects can be disastrous! Women share photos of themselves freely with their boyfriends/husbands and never think about what would happen if they ended up on the internet. God forbid someone go so far as to include the personal contact information as well…just wow…that would be super scary! I feel that this book is a very important book to read and share. The message within the romance is intense and invaluable. I want to say a HUGE thank you to Heidi Joy Tretheway for taking the time to write such an important and yet still entertaining and heartwarming story. I know that I will be sharing it with friends and family!

If Tattoo Thief was a great read, then Tyler & Stella (kind of wish it had a cool name like the others) was AMAZING!

Heidi Joy Tretheway set herself up for some hard work when it came to my feelings for Stella. She ended Tattoo Thief in a way that made me rather pissed off at her choices and well…I just wasn’t sure if I was even going to care or think she deserved to be with Tyler! Somehow, even though I am still quite mad about what Stella did, I found myself caring for Stella and hoping that Beryl and Tyler would find a way to forgive her. She had some major bumps in the road in her past and it explains some of her behavior…not all but some. I still feel like she was a bit “easy” (yes I know how much that word makes her cringe…but hey I call em like I see em) and made some pretty horrible decisions.

Stella’s past does not give her the right to act the way she does towards others. She needs to get her head out of her ass and wake up to the real world. Tyler is an amazing man…yeah so what if he screwed up once…he’s a rockstar that never got laid before becoming famous…it’s sort of expected to have one or two slip ups! The man that Tyler is NOW is pretty dang awesome. I do feel like he should have opened up to Stella a little bit earlier in their relationship, things may not have gone quite so crazy if he had, but at the same time I totally understand why he kept it to himself.

It was nice to get a break from all of the “perfect” people in romance novels and read about a couple that are “bent”, not broken, and need to work on who they are and figure out what they want out of life and love. Tyler is sweet, sexy, shy and pretty dang awesome…but definitely not perfect. Stella…well you read what I said above…she is far from perfect!

I loved that this story manages to mix in the art of forgiveness and redemption with the romance. Watching as Stella and Tyler bond and grow to trust one another was so heartwarming and endearing. I went from thinking that Stella was a total bitch to caring about her. While Tyler didn’t have as much of a transformation through the book, he definitely grew to be a stronger person. I was happy to finally understand why he kept doing the hot/cold thing with Stella and even happier when it stopped!

This story is FILLED with twists and turns and some pretty epic moments. Heidi Joy Tretheways’ brilliant writing style is at work again, leaving the reader in awe of the chemistry and romance throughout the story. I am in love with her writing style and cannot wait to read the next book in the series!

Alright, I got this book and honestly it took me a while to get around to reading it. It was on my TBR list for about a month. (Which for me is long once I have a book on my Kindle…I was in the middle of another series and just didn’t want to interrupt the story line by reading something else.) By the time I got around to reading it I had no clue what it was about!

When I first started reading I noticed a few similarities to the Twilight Saga and I just KNEW that Tristan was going to be a dang vampire and if he had been…well this book wouldn’t have gotten 4 stars from me. However, the book (while similar to Twilight in some ways) was so much more! The plot line has depths to it that everyone (after reading some reviews by others) clearly didn’t get when reading it. I can’t even believe that I read the same book as some of these people! I mean wow…can you say harsh! 

Anyways, as I was saying, the plot line (fighting our inner and external demons, along with a little romance of course) and characters are well developed and catchy. I was literally hooked within the first few minutes of reading, I just didn’t want to put it down! I love the idea of the battle of Good vs. Evil and breaking it down in such a way with the characters was awesome and fun to read. I found myself crying and laughing along with the characters and hoping that things worked out.

There were a few times that I wanted to shout at Alexis for being so childish and non-understanding…especially when he explicitly said he was going to have to say things he didn’t want to. I mean really…come on chick the man is crazy for you!

I adored how well the author kept the secrets! I had no clue what was going to happen and when I guessed…well let’s just say for once I was wrong! I loved it! Not many books can keep a secret that well hidden while still having you so engrossed int he book that you cannot help but read on! I was frustrated, thrilled, and angry throughout the book for so many different reasons! 

Over all, this is a sweet, unique romance that kept me on my toes. The romance was well paced and fun to read. Tristan and Alexis’s chemistry is tangible and real, there were so many moments that I found myself so deep in the book and this romance that I forgot I wasn’t actually there!

The book ended in a way that left me hanging and dying for the next book! I just HAVE to know! The author’s writing style is easy to read and get sucked into…so only pick this one up if you are ready and willing to spend a good bit of time focused on the book!

During a break halfway through class, I bought a soda and wandered outside. The hot, heavy air wasn’t exactly refreshing, but it was a nice break from the closed up, conditioned air inside. The sun had officially set and the sky was still a pinkish-purple in the west, the tops of two palm trees silhouetted against it. A couple of people sat on the top step, talking. I walked down the stairs and leaned against a lamppost, sipping my drink.

“Alexis, right?” a silky, sexy voice asked behind me, making me jump and slosh soda over my hand.

I turned to see Mr. Beautiful. Of course he would sound lovely. I already knew he smelled good, too. Yep. He strode over to me and I could really take in the scents. Hmmm…sweet, like mangos and papayas, citrusy like lime, and spicy like…hmmm…I think sage…and just a hint of man. My quirky sense of smell was not only stronger than normal, but also allowed me to pick out the individual layers of a complex scent. His was natural—it didn’t have the chemical undertone like cologne or soaps did—a fresh fragrance, making me think of sitting in the sun on a warm day.

“Uh, yeah,” I muttered. The lamp over us cast its light directly on his spellbinding face, making my mind foggy and unable to form coherent words.

It wasn’t right for a guy to be so incredibly attractive. Besides how tall he stood—towering at least a foot over my five-two—I noticed his hazel eyes first. They pulled me into their staggering beauty, with a wide ring of emerald green on the outside of the irises and brown around the pupils with gold specks that seemed to . . . sparkle. They were fringed with such long, dark lashes that it was unfair they were on a guy. His facial features were flawless—a square jaw, full lips and a golden suntan—better than any movie star or model. Sandy brown hair, longer on top and streaked by the sun, topped off his perfection. And then he smiled magnificently and the gold flecks in his eyes sparkled brighter, like when the sun hits gold flakes in a mining pan. My brain slid out the exit door and my insides melted like chocolate. Get a grip!

I tried to remember his name. He had to have introduced himself to the team. I must have been really focused on that mind nudge, because I drew a blank.

“I’m Tristan . . . in case you didn’t catch it.”

I nodded as if I knew. “Yeah, nice to meet you, Tristan. Um, sorry about running into you earlier.”

“I’m not,” he murmured so quietly, I probably wasn’t supposed to have heard.

We both stood there awkwardly . . . well, I felt awkward, anyway. I expected him to leave, but, strangely, he didn’t.

Found by You is a sweet NA contemporary romance with plenty of steam. I was quickly drawn into Roxie and Griffin’s world of love and basketball, and I fell in love with Griffin from page one. Although Griffin is a star at her university and Roxie considers herself nothing out of the ordinary, these two find a common denominator that soon finds them head over heels.

What I loved most about this novel is how the characters, despite outward appearances, have perfectly flawed pasts that weave into the current events of the story-not too much, but just enough to have you appreciate their ability to move beyond who they were and focus on who they are now. While some people may dwell on their pasts, Roxie and Griffin do not and manage to move on with their lives, finding a happy place within each other, despite differences that may be more obvious to others than to themselves.

Griffin Chandler is the sexy superstar on campus. Captain of their college’s basketball team, he is looking forward to a promising professional career following his upcoming graduation. Though he’s had his fair share of past transgressions, he has straightened out his life by the time he meets Roxie. And although he knows she is not his usual type, he is drawn to her anyway, finding she is exactly right for him. THIS is my favorite type of chemistry~when one can look inside another, not focusing on the shallow surfaces~which is why I fell in love Griffin from the start.

While Griffin has managed to move on from his past, Roxie’s problems are still ever present in her life and it takes Griffin’s acceptance and love for her to overcome them. Not his usual type as far as Roxie is concerned, she slowly begins to open up despite every bone in her body telling her to run. For one, she is not a ‘skinny’ barbie doll like most of Griffin’s ex’s and two, she isn’t white. Although their backgrounds played a part in the story, her race had very little, if anything to do with it and the two find that they have much more in common then not, which eventually becomes the tie that binds them together.

I really enjoyed Found by You. There were plenty of sweet moments between Roxie and Griffin while the two find their way and as for the steam~let me tell you, the hot trysts did not disappoint.

Griffin and Roxie are a lovely couple, and I officially appoint them MFEO.

I have been dying to get my hands on this book since I first ran across it! The title, 2B Or Not 2B, alone just dragged me in and had me hooked! Then I made the mistake of actually reading the blurb for it…holy mother I must have this book!

Lucky, lucky me, Stephanie Witter allowed me to have an ARC copy of the book in exchange for an honest review…this meant I got it a day early!!! Hahahaha suckers! (Okay…just kidding…well I’m mainly kidding about the suckers part…)

Let’s talk story line for starters…London is a college chick that doesn’t want to stay in a dorm and is searching for an apartment with a roommate. After checking out a few pretty out there places she comes up to Byron’s place and knows that she has to convince this guy that she can stay with him and things not be weird…even though she is a chick and he is an insanely hot guy (with a bit of a dark and womanizing side). They work it out so that she has a 2 month trial stay in his apartment, 2b, hence the awesomely creative name!

How about the characters? The chemistry between these two is crazy from the start! They use witty banter, call each other names, scream, use creative and hilarious nicknames, and treat each other like one of the guys…most of the time! I’m trying to do this without spoilers…and IT’S NOT EASY! This book is insane! The characters are addicting, easy to relate to and well developed. There are so many scenes in this book that had me thinking “yeah…been there!” especially with how London see’s herself…some of her self descriptions are pretty harsh and tough to read. I doubt she is even all that big!

Byron is a douche for a big part of this book! I mean really…the way he behaves after certain things occur is just unacceptable! I don’t care what he thought he saw or what misunderstandings there were! You just don’t pull that crap! However, I found London and Elliot’s way of payback to be quite epic and awesome!

The background characters in this book are amazingly well developed. I found myself upset when I didn’t get to learn more about Macon and Ty or Sydney and Logan before the book ended…heck I’m even looking forward to and hoping that Elliot finds his own story in this series! (HINT enough??? Or shall I beg Stephanie for this one?)

I’m sure you are ready for me to get down to the point and say what I need to say about the book huh? Enough rambling about details without giving you any information!

So here it is plain and simple:

This book will keep you hooked from the moment you open it til the very last page where you are almost in tears and hoping that it doesn’t take long for the next book to come out (and it better touch on how this relationship is going!). (Just in case you were wondering: this book got 4 stars instead of 5 for me for a few small reasons. There were a few things that were a bit repetitive (but not so much that I didn’t want to keep reading) and there were quite a few errors in my copy…this may not be so in the published copy and if it isn’t then I will come back and edit my review accordingly!) 

Stephanie Witter is a French dreamer. She started learning English at three, and fell in love with the language. Always with a book, or two close by, she started reading in English when she couldn’t wait any longer for Harry Potter to be translated in French. After a while, reading wasn’t enough. She soon started writing Young Adult and new Adult Contemporary novels filled with angst, love, hope, drama and a touch of fun. PATCH UP is her first New Adult Contemporary novel.

Describe your book/series in 15 words or less!

College girl meets her new roommate, a hot and scarred ex-soldier. A hot mess begins!

When did you start writing? How did you come up with your books name?

I started writing seriously 3 or 4 years ago. I have many more stories to tell! 

What is something about yourself that most of your readers don’t know?

 

I’m not sure if they know about this or not, but I love watching TV series. I’m also laughing a lot while watching horror movies. Hm… Let me think about something to show how weird I truly am. 

 

I hate planes. Flying is really not my thing. Whenever I’m on a plane I become paranoid and think that I’m going to die. Believe me, it’s difficult to keep a calm exterior when inside you’re sure you’re going to die. The last time I was on a plane, I couldn’t release my hold on the seat in front of me. For almost 4 hours.

 

OH MY GOSH! I have never been on a plane and if I can help it I never will lol they terrify me!!

 

What do you find most challenging about being an author?

 

I have two things I find challenging. Marketing my books and myself, because I’m really not good at this, and finding the time to actually write. I’m not a full time author and it can be even trickier to find a few hours every day to actually meet my deadlines. And it’s without saying that writing a book is pretty challenging in itself. 

 

What do you find most rewarding about being an author?

 

Readers’ messages, reviews and enthusiasm. Without them I’d keep my stories stored on my laptop. They make it even more thrilling because when they tell you that you made them laugh or cry? It’s amazing. Creating something from just an idea, something that brings emotions to people is something I never thought I’d be able to do.

 

What book are you most proud of so far?

 

It’s difficult to say… I love my books obviously, but the one very close to my heart is PATCH UP. It’s a New Adult Contemporary novel about abuse among other things.

 

What are two of your favorite books/series by other authors?

 

I love Slammed by Colleen Hoover. I’ve been a fan since the very beginning when she first self-published it.

I also fell in love with Kellan Kyle in Thoughtless by S.C Stephens.

But it’s really bothering me to list only two because I have many, many books and authors I deeply love.

 

I know, I know! Sowwie…I have to limit it! But I know it’s a toughie for me to answer and honestly changes from day to day for me! lol

 

What’s next for you?

 

Next? I’m working with my beta reader on finalizing FIX UP, Patch Up’s sequel that will be published next October. I’m also writing the first draft of a novel that features Kate & Derek, two secondary characters from Patch Up. This book will be published next November. I’m still pretty busy!

If you could have any one toy what would it be? Why?

 

A yoyo. I remember playing a lot with one when I was a small kid. It was trending again at the time. lol I remember having fun with it and also throwing against the wall of my house when I couldn’t do some tricks.

 

If you could have one super power what would it be? Why?

 

Telekinesis. Don’t ask me why, I don’t have a clue why. Maybe it’s my inner lazy self speaking up?

 

What would I find in your refrigerator right now?

 

Watermelon, yogurts, some vegetables, beef, sodas and nothing else. I need to go grocery shopping tomorrow.

 

If your book/series was a dessert, what would it be and why?

 

2B OR NOT 2B? would be some kind of exotic flavored dessert because London and Byron are quite an odd mix and they have some spunk. So, a dessert a little bit odd with an unexpected ingredient that makes it surprising.

 

What do you think about when you are alone in your car?

 

Mostly? New stories, my characters, what I still need to write next. I’m slightly obsessed as you now know.
