This was my first Katy Regnery book and goodness if I’m not hooked and addicted! How dare she offer this sigh worthy book for free on Kindle…only for me to be so addicted to not only her writing style, the characters, the story, the family, the town, the…well everything that I am on the verge of 1 clicking all 6 in the series?!? Heck I’m ready to stalk Katy online and bug her daily about more books!!

On a serious note, this book was simply AMAZING! I still cannot get over how sweet of a love story this managed to be. For such an over played trope (fake fiance turns love) she kept me on my toes. I never once knew what was coming or what to expect. All that I did know was that I wanted more.

I know that when I 1click a freebie I’m always skeptical. ..you just never know what the quality is going to be. You never know if it’s going to be one you can’t put down or one you wish you had never picked up…

Breaking Up With Barrett managed to be both for me haha I was so mad at myself for starting this book knowing that my book budget was done for the month…and I was going to have to wait to get the rest!!

So not cool…how dare she write a book that makes me want more haha

Let’s talk a bit about the book, romance and story line.

This romance is super sweet and angsty. I’ve never read a book where the couple met at such such a young age and fell in love. I will say that it took me a bit to adjust to the idea that there was something strange about a billionaire business man dating his gardener’s daughter. ..guess to us lowly normal people it just didn’t seem strange or like something wrong.

The romance flows beautifully and is very realistic. So much so that I swear I may run across all of these characters one day! Their backgrounds are so well developed that I know these people. I feel like I am a part of their lives, a part of their story. Just wow!

The way that Katy writes is so flawless, so organic and real…I just can’t imagine not wanting to read more from her! Needless to say, Barrett and Emily are 100% MFEO!

Soo…book 1 (My First) ended…needless to say that I was pumped and ready for book 2! I mean come on…Jason and Katie’s story was just SOOOO good, how could I not want to read more?

My Last focuses on Riley and Chelle. While we met Chelle a bit in book one, we never really got much on Riley…other than the fact that he is Marine and has been away for a really long time. Chelle is the sweet good girl that everyone loves…and Riley is the bad boy that no one knows anymore. I think my one issue with this story was that it was extremely sweet. I think what I’m trying to say is that there wasn’t any big suspense or issue that they had to deal with other than Riley deciding to stay or not…

Not that being sweet is a bad thing. I mean, I adored this story and think that it is really well written. It just felt like there was something missing…something that would have made me worry for the characters…bite my nails as I turned the page…that sort of thing. (Now there is a bit of a twist near the very end…but still not really a nail biter.)

Now, lets talk about the story a bit. Basically, if you’ve read a best friends little sister book…the story line is sort of predictable on that front. However, Melanie Shawn manages to work in fun little things that do make it unique and totally worth reading. Honestly, I couldn’t put it down. While My Last doesn’t come close to the amount of love I have for My First, it was definitely an awesome read!

I was disappointed in Chelle’s big brother Eddie though. That man was pretty freaking rude about things…I mean come on! You haven’t seen him in 12 years and you expect him to be exactly the same as he was as a teenager? Not fair man…not fair at all! Riley is a total sweet heart alpha male and I adored reading about him. 

Each of the characters was, yet again, extremely well developed and absolutely addictive! I found myself paying close attention to the background characters constantly wondering who I would get to read about next…who will fall for who and how will it happen. By the end of this book I had come up with all sorts of love connections that should happen…I even have something in my head for Grandpa J! Lol

The romance is adorably sweet and absolutely magical. These two together left me in tears and had me crossing every known appendage that they would figure out a way to make their love work…I mean come on! Riley and Chelle are totally MFEO material!!

Anyways…over all this was an excellent read. Not my favorite ever…but definitely worth picking up! So pop on over to Amazon and give it  a go!

The Redemption of Soul Dallas is the first YA book I have read in a very long time. I was nervous…I was antsy…I just wanted this book to be awesome!

The blurb is absolutely perfect and hooked me right away. After reading it I just knew that I had to read the book. When Cara offered me the chance to review it I was quick to say yes!

Damn am I glad that I got the chance! This book was wonderful! Quite possibly one of my favorite books so far and that is saying something!

It took me a bit to adjust to the European speech, but once I adjusted things flowed beautifully and I didn’t want to put it down!

The characters are perfectly developed and so realistic that I could easily picture myself meeting them, being a part of their lives and this amazing story. I couldn’t help but connect with Soul and Lana. I felt like such a part of the story that I hurt when they hurt, I cried when they cried and my stomach got that butterfly feeling as if I were about to experience my first kiss as they did. I can honestly say that I book has not made me FEEL so much in a very long time.

Cara J. White’s writing style is addictive. The way the story flows from page to page is so natural, so easy to follow that it drags you in without your knowledge. It hooks you and pulls you in deeper with every word read and every page turned. The Redemption of Soul Dallas is one of those books that I would recommend to everyone! The message within the love story is so meaningful, so important. I can’t think of a single person that wouldn’t benefit from reading this book.

The situation that Lana is in, the emotional issues that she is forced to attempt to overcome…it’s all so real. There are a lot of people out there dealing with very similar things.

Then we look at Soul’s life and the horrible things that he has to deal with. When Lana’s mother blames him for his living arrangement and for his being sick…lets just say that I wanted to hurt that woman even more than I did when I saw how she treated Lana! Not one single part of what Soul is going through is his fault and for anyone to even insinuate that it is…

Ugh…okay sorry see what I mean about the story and characters being written so realistically that you feel a part of it? I feel the need to defend Soul. To step in when Lana needs someone to tell her mom to shove it!

So anyways…I’ve done a decent job of rambling on and on about The Redemption of Soul Dallas. And yet…I did a great job of not letting you know what is going on in the story hehe Don’t want to spoil it for ya!

Just know that the romance is epic, a total MFEO if I’ve ever read one! The characters are beautifully written. The story line flows perfectly. And the ending…

Oh gosh…that damn ending!

I am still crying my eyes out over here every time I think about it

The Redemption of Soul Dallas is such a wonderful book with characters so well developed that I felt like I knew them and grew to care for them. With every page I turned I found myself begging for more and worrying constantly over the outcome. Now that it’s over I want more…I need to know what happens next for Lana…I want Soul back!! #SoulDallas

It’s time for NOT SO Ugly Ross’s story!

I have been hoping and begging for this story since I first met the horribly nicknamed Ugly Ross and of course Jessie did not disappoint in Sunny with a Chance of True Love!

I still cannot get over the fact that I read this book in one sitting…in just a few short hours! I was literally HOOKED from page one and just couldn’t put it down! I didn’t even stop to potty or eat…my youngest was napping and my oldest was at school…so I just knew that I was going to get this book read!

From page one, Ross’s story is packed full of love, sweetness and the most epic relationship I have ever read about! This may be a novella…but boy does it pack a punch!

Ross is not just your typical southern gentleman…he is also a soft hearted man that is scared to let that side of himself show. I have always cringed at his nickname…I mean whose friends actually call them Ugly Ross?? I have always hoped that someday he would stand up for himself and put an end to that horrid name…and well he definitely did!

Hearing about sweet Elodie’s childhood and how horribly her classmates treated her was tough for sure! I can’t get over how much she had to overcome! I couldn’t help but giggle at her chosen profession…hehe it’s just so gross and awesomely perfect all at the same time!

This is one of those books that is so hard to review…not because there is anything wrong with it…but because it is sooooo perfect and I’m worried that I will accidentally ruin it for you! There are just so many wonderful little surprises throughout that will make you giggle, cringe and all out ugly cry!

So let me try and sum this up quickly…

Sunny with a Chance of True Love is an epic love story that you will not want to miss! Ross and Elodie are MFEO if I’ve ever seen it!

The romance flows perfectly and the relationship, while may seem rushed on some fronts, is absolutely realistic. I HIGHLY recommend that you head on over to Amazon and get your hands on this book!

I still stand behind that…unless you are ready to purchase Diamonds and Dust…don’t read that damn prologue! It should be considered cruel and unusual punishment!

I have adored every single book and am absolutely addicted to this series…

however, if I am being honest with myself Diamonds and Dust is my favorite.

I knew it would be! After reading that damn prologue I was hooked and on my knees begging to get the full book in my hands so I could read it!

Once that thing was on my kindle it was on! I locked myself in my room and read until I finished! Totally worth it!

OMG GUYS! This book…just damn!

We have all read the falling for my best friends brother trope before…hell it’s been done and done again so many times that I can’t even think of them all! But guess what?!? What Jessie pulled off in Diamonds and Dust is original and epic!

The relationship between Tulsi and Pike is so volatile…

so explosive…

so undeniable that even in the beginning of the book you just know that this story is going to be one of the best you have ever read!

Needless to say, Diamonds and Dust gets the MFEO stamp of approval for sure! This romance is one of my favorites ever and it would be a shame to not acknowledge that!

Tusli has been friends with Mia since kindergarten…and her crush on Mia’s sexy older brother Pike didn’t take long to form, especially when he saved her life! At the age of 18 Tulsi finally decides it’s time to confront Pike and see where things lead. After a spring filled with love and so much fun that neither thinks their relationship will ever end they manage to break one another’s hearts and their passion swings from love to hate.

After seven long years of avoiding one another the time comes when they have to deal with the issue. With Mia getting married there is no way they won’t have to be around one another and act civil, because no one knows that they were ever together! There are so many twists and turns in this plot that once you start it you won’t want to put it down! 

I’ll admit that there were several times during the book that I stopped and thought “Well what the hell happened to make him/her think that?” or “Why in the crap did he/she do that!!”, however, it takes a very well written book to get me so emotionally involved and connected that I get angry with the characters for their choices. Diamonds and Dust had me laughing, crying, screaming, giggling and stomping my feet in frustration from page one!
