It’s time for NOT SO Ugly Ross’s story!

I have been hoping and begging for this story since I first met the horribly nicknamed Ugly Ross and of course Jessie did not disappoint in Sunny with a Chance of True Love!

I still cannot get over the fact that I read this book in one sitting…in just a few short hours! I was literally HOOKED from page one and just couldn’t put it down! I didn’t even stop to potty or eat…my youngest was napping and my oldest was at school…so I just knew that I was going to get this book read!

From page one, Ross’s story is packed full of love, sweetness and the most epic relationship I have ever read about! This may be a novella…but boy does it pack a punch!

Ross is not just your typical southern gentleman…he is also a soft hearted man that is scared to let that side of himself show. I have always cringed at his nickname…I mean whose friends actually call them Ugly Ross?? I have always hoped that someday he would stand up for himself and put an end to that horrid name…and well he definitely did!

Hearing about sweet Elodie’s childhood and how horribly her classmates treated her was tough for sure! I can’t get over how much she had to overcome! I couldn’t help but giggle at her chosen profession…hehe it’s just so gross and awesomely perfect all at the same time!

This is one of those books that is so hard to review…not because there is anything wrong with it…but because it is sooooo perfect and I’m worried that I will accidentally ruin it for you! There are just so many wonderful little surprises throughout that will make you giggle, cringe and all out ugly cry!

So let me try and sum this up quickly…

Sunny with a Chance of True Love is an epic love story that you will not want to miss! Ross and Elodie are MFEO if I’ve ever seen it!

The romance flows perfectly and the relationship, while may seem rushed on some fronts, is absolutely realistic. I HIGHLY recommend that you head on over to Amazon and get your hands on this book!

Alright…so we all know that I am happily addicted to Jessie Evans and her Lonesome Point series….well here is the newest addition!

Every single time Jessie puts out a new book my heart starts to sputter and my mind goes all wonky…I just KNOW that this one is going to be the one that breaks the 5 star streak…I mean how many books in a row can an author write that leave me begging for more?!?

Well apparently Jessie managed yet another one!

Dang it Jessie…you’re killing me over here! Every time I think I have a favorite book…a favorite couple…you go and throw more awesome at me and I get even more confused than before!

Reece and Grayson are both pretty amazing characters. They may or may not be my favorite…heck at this point I think I’m just going to stop trying to figure that part out!

Each and every book in the Lonesome Point series has something that hooks me…makes me want more. And each and every time I say that I have a new favorite…but then if I go back and reread one of the older ones…well yeah you guessed it…that one is my fave all over again!

Glitter and Grit has a ton of twists and turns that left me breathless and confused. I couldn’t believe some of the things that popped up during this one!

The characters are beautifully written and so realistic. Watching as Reece and Grayson fight something that is out of their hands in order to give in to the extreme attraction that they have for one another is priceless. Watching as they grow even closer with each new development left me in tears. There is just something about the Lonesome Point series that always gets me super emotional from page one til the very end.

I was so very happy to get to hear from everyone that I have come to love in this series and learn about the exciting things that are going on in their lives. For such a short story this book is totally packed with romance, laughter, surprises and love!

We get to see how everyone’s HEA is working out and get a glimpse into what may be coming in their futures. I think the only thing I didn’t like about this book is that it is supposed to be the last one in the series…that is so totally not cool! Come on Jessie…you know you want to write some more about these guys! I know Fire and Icing touches on them as well…but after reading those books I’m still dying for more!

Both the Fire and Icing series as well as all of the books in the Always a Bridesmaid series are extremely high on my recommended list! These books are all amazingly quick and definitely awesome reads that you will not want to miss out on!

However, Jessie Evans has a way of writing novellas that makes me forget that the book is short. Things are far from rushed and so well developed and detailed that there is nothing left for me to question…that is unless there is supposed to be a cliffie at the end.

Jessie’s writing style is so addictive that I am already drooling for the next book before I finish the one I’m reading. I keep finding myself trying to figure out who gets a story next. Which characters that met do I get to hear from! It’s exciting and I love it! I am definitely an official Jessie Evan’s junkie!

So let’s talk books a bit…

Betting on You (Always a Bridesmaid 1)

Lark and Mason’s story is sweet and deliciously detailed. This is an amazing second chance romance that had me hooked from page one. The characters are well developed, including the ‘background’ characters. As readers, we learn so much so fast it could easily be overwhelming. However, somehow Jessie manages to make it easy to take in. The romance flows realistically and keeps you on your toes. I am in awe of Jessie’s writing style and thoroughly enjoying this series.

Keeping You (Always a Bridesmaid 2)

I think that Aria and Nash’s romance is by far my favorite in the series. I adore the angst and enemies turned lovers story. Again, the characters are extremely well developed and so real that I swear I could roll into Summerville and meet them if I tried! The romance is fast, fun and intense and yet flows beautifully. The deeper into the lives of the people of Summerville I get the more I want!

Wild for You (Always a Bridesmaid 3)

Oh gosh…Nick and Melody’s story was just awesome! I still think Aria and Nash are my fave, but these two aren’t far behind! I mean come on, who doesn’t enjoy a little girl next door with a bad boy? While those two descriptions seem accurate at first, as we get further into their story it is easy to see that both Nick and Melody are both so much more than what they seem. Watching as their relationship grows and they figure out who they truly are while bringing out the best in one another is just priceless. Such a sweet story!

Overall thoughts…

Oh my gosh! I am in love! I cannot wait to read more of the Always a Bridesmaid series! The only bad part about it is that there are only two more books! I’m going to be soooo sad when I’m done But hey…at least I get to read the Fire and Icing books next!

I still stand behind that…unless you are ready to purchase Diamonds and Dust…don’t read that damn prologue! It should be considered cruel and unusual punishment!

I have adored every single book and am absolutely addicted to this series…

however, if I am being honest with myself Diamonds and Dust is my favorite.

I knew it would be! After reading that damn prologue I was hooked and on my knees begging to get the full book in my hands so I could read it!

Once that thing was on my kindle it was on! I locked myself in my room and read until I finished! Totally worth it!

OMG GUYS! This book…just damn!

We have all read the falling for my best friends brother trope before…hell it’s been done and done again so many times that I can’t even think of them all! But guess what?!? What Jessie pulled off in Diamonds and Dust is original and epic!

The relationship between Tulsi and Pike is so volatile…

so explosive…

so undeniable that even in the beginning of the book you just know that this story is going to be one of the best you have ever read!

Needless to say, Diamonds and Dust gets the MFEO stamp of approval for sure! This romance is one of my favorites ever and it would be a shame to not acknowledge that!

Tusli has been friends with Mia since kindergarten…and her crush on Mia’s sexy older brother Pike didn’t take long to form, especially when he saved her life! At the age of 18 Tulsi finally decides it’s time to confront Pike and see where things lead. After a spring filled with love and so much fun that neither thinks their relationship will ever end they manage to break one another’s hearts and their passion swings from love to hate.

After seven long years of avoiding one another the time comes when they have to deal with the issue. With Mia getting married there is no way they won’t have to be around one another and act civil, because no one knows that they were ever together! There are so many twists and turns in this plot that once you start it you won’t want to put it down! 

I’ll admit that there were several times during the book that I stopped and thought “Well what the hell happened to make him/her think that?” or “Why in the crap did he/she do that!!”, however, it takes a very well written book to get me so emotionally involved and connected that I get angry with the characters for their choices. Diamonds and Dust had me laughing, crying, screaming, giggling and stomping my feet in frustration from page one!

Moving on from my insanity….

Twelve Dates of Christmas is a novella, which I typically hate because things feel rushed and I always end up feeling like I missed so much of the story. Some how Jessie managed to pack one hell of a punch in this novella and I can honestly say that I didn’t have a single moment during this book where I felt like I was being rushed or missing anything. It takes a special type of writer to be able to pull this off, to be able to fit an entire love story into such a short book.

So let’s talk story line and characters, shall we?

Lula, who we met in Leather and Lace as well as Saddles and Sin, gets to tell her story! I was so excited when I heard about this book, I just knew that Lula had a story worth reading and boy was I right! When I read the first two books in the series I got the idea that Lula was much older than she is. I was rather surprised to find out her age! Anyways, in Twelve Dates of Christmas Lula gets the surprise of her life when the man who crushed her heart eleven years ago shows up in town hell bent on getting her back. It’s a bit difficult to tell you much about the story line and not give away spoilers…so this will unfortunately be a short review LOL

Carter is sexy as sin (as are all of the men in the Lonesome Point series) and has a heart of gold! He may have made mistakes in the past, but the way he treats Lula and does everything in his power to earn back her trust is just perfect. He only has 12 dates….just 12 days to convince her that he is a changed man! Can he do it? Can he break down her walls and show her that his love for her never stopped??

The romance in this book is epic and undeniable! The sexual tension and connection that Carter and Lula share is intense. Even with this being a novella the relationship didn’t seem forced or rushed. It just felt right. Jessie has managed to earn the MFEO stamp of approval for a novella…which is a first on Breathless Ink!

Twelve Dates of Christmas is a DEFINITE must read! If you haven’t already started the Lonesome Point series then head on over and pick up Leather and Lace and get your hiney to the LPA (Lonesome Point Anonymous) meetings lol Jessie Evan’s writing style is addictive, fun and just plain amazing! The stories flow beautifully and the characters are so well developed that I feel like I could easily pull up in that town at any moment and run into the characters!

So I did this all out of order! I read Saddles and Sin and then Leather and Lace! I was surprised at how well both books work as a series while being totally stand alone material at the same time!

Saddles and Sin touched on some pretty deep real life issues…but it did not come close to what happens in Leather and Lace! Jessie Evans some how manages to work in some pretty serious issues (I’m trying to do this without spoiling anything for you!) while maintaining an amazing love story and romance.

Let’s talk story line and characters a bit.

Mia Sherman is back home in Lonesome Point and after a year she still isn’t herself. She is still hiding and pretending. When Sawyer Kane come around with his swagger and sexy, huge build…she doesn’t know what to do or how to act. Even though she absolutely knows what her body wants.

With the worries of her past mistakes and her family’s curse she doesn’t want to get close to anyone. She thinks she has hit the lottery when Sawyer is just up for a bit of fun!

(Major freaking plot twist thrown in BTW! Good lord Jessie…so didn’t see that one coming after getting to know Mia a bit!)

I adored the chance to get to know these characters better after reading Saddles and Sin. Jessie’s writing style has a way of making me feel like a part of the story. The characters are well developed, realistic and addictive! The characters in each book are immediately captivating and jump off of the pages at me in a way that gives me no choice but to care about their story and them finding their HEA.

Just damn! I cannot get over how amazing this book was! Quite simply this is a 100% MFEO couple in a 100% epic love story that kept me begging for more from page one!

What Jessie Evans has created in Saddles and Sin is more than I expected it to be. It was so emotional, so raw and so damn real that I couldn’t help but become attached to the well developed characters and amazingly realistic story line. I laughed, I cried, I yelled, and I most definitely got overly emotional and had very real reactions to everything that went on.

It took me a bit to adjust to the name Bubba…I’m from the south and well lets just say that most guys named Bubba don’t bring to mind someone I want to drool over. lol Once I got past that I found a man that was a perfect gentleman wrapped in one very sexy package. The way that he put his family and friends first was heart warming and I loved watching as Marisol learned that not everyone is going to hurt you and that sometimes it is okay to put your faith in family and friends.

These two…just wow! What chemistry! I’m surprised that they made it as long as they did before finally coming together. I loved how Jessie trickled hints about Marisol’s past throughout the book but held off on putting it all out there right away. The way that she writes this story made it so much more raw, emotional and unexpected. I honestly cannot explain the reaction that I had to this book. I was so utterly attached to these characters that I was sad to see it end and yet happy to see where things lead.

On a side note, I haven’t had the chance to read book one, Leather and Lace, yet but will soon and cannot wait!

Oh yeah…here is my little warning I feel the need to share with you guys…

DO NOT READ THE FREAKING PROLOGUE AT THE END OF THIS BOOK…OMG SERIOUSLY…YOU CAN’T BUY DIAMONDS AND DUST UNTIL NOVEMBER AND THIS PROLOGUE IS JUST PLAIN MEAN HEHE Okay so I may be exaggerating a tad…but seriously…I am literally stalking the page for the next book in the series…I am addicted and I HAVE to know what happens next!!!
