I’ve given away my heart once and only once. Now, I live my life the way I do. I don’t have time to talk about my feelings and get emotional. That shit is for the birds. When you take out emotions you’ll feel a lot better, trust me. Emotions mean feeling and feeling means opening yourself up to get hurt and when you’re hurt, all you can think about is why and what you could have done differently. You blame yourself and think of ways to get her back. When you can’t think of anything, you’re backed up into a corner and feel alone. No one can help you because the only person who can will never be able to. That hurt leaves you feeling broken and you go through hell trying to pick yourself back up. You stop your life, the only life you know, and live in the dark. You’re vulnerable to words and actions. People around you walk on eggshells, scared to make you cry or piss you off. So I’ve taken away my feelings and will never hurt the way I did before. See my point?

For Treston, life is just a shell for him, never letting anyone get close enough to see the real him. That is until he meets Zara, the new star of the lacrosse team at Duke. For the first time in years, he starts to feel again, but feels so undeserving considering what happened to him the last time he loved. They start off as friends first, but the chemistry between the two too strong for either to deny for very long.

Zara, herself is a strong female character. All she wants to do is live life to her fullest, and wants Treston to let her in on the demons he is fighting from his past. But when he won’t, she finally has enough and walks away knowing that unless he lets her completely in, then she won’t ever truly have him. And she sticks to her convictions on that.

Months go by after they have broken up, when Treston finally sees the light as to what he has lost and what is worth fighting for. I was like finally, the light bulb goes off. So many times, I wanted to throttle Treston for what he put both of them through because he was too stuck in his head, and not returning what Zara gave him during their relationship in the beginning, which was everything she could, her heart and soul.

The only real problem that I had with reading it, was the flow of the story. Sometimes, it flowed really well and other times, had trouble following along with what was happening, details were glossed over or things in the story jumped ahead in time. I felt at times like I had whiplash wondering how did it get here in the book when this just happened. And that kept me from being fully engaged in the story. But other than that, I loved the story and the characters I could feel their emotions and the struggles they dealt with on their own and together. It was the first book Ive ever read of S. Moose’s and am looking forward to reading more of her work.

A few fan questions came in once the video interview was over, but no worries! Ryan was able to answer your questions as well:

Crystal asks: Can we see you in a suit and tie?

Ryan: Yeah I definitely think that is possible, but first I would have to get a new one haha. Haven’t had one tailored in years.

Rosie asks: How are he and Jenna going to spend the weekend? And yes it would be great to see him in a shirt and tie!!

Ryan: Well every Saturday we go to my mom’s lake house, Jenna loves it down there. Then on Sunday we went to the pumpkin patch and picked out our pumpkins to carve this week. Her favorite thing was the corn maze.

Samantha asks: What is your biggest goal u want to accomplish that you haven’t yet accomplished …..and what is one thing u look forward to doing in the near future?

Ryan: My biggest goal that I have yet to accomplish is make a magazine cover. It’s still super early with me and the whole modeling thing but that has always been a goal of mine. I’m really looking forward to all of the photoshoots and book covers that I have coming in the next 6-12 months. It’s kind of crazy how quickly it’s moving.

Trish asks: What’s the most embarrassing thing anyone could ask you to do?

Ryan: Probably sing. Even though Jenna loves to sing with me I’m almost 100% positive that I do not have a good voice haha.

Becca: Well darn! I wish I had this question during the video…we could have totally belted out some Frozen: Let it Go or something hahha

Crystal asks: I like when a sexy man can laugh too. Lol He’s always seemed kinda shy….was he nervous?

Ryan: Yeah I’m definitely a little shy but I wasn’t very nervous. I just laugh and smile a lot to get through it haha. It’s worked for me so far

Don’t believe him on the laughing to get through it? Watch our interview…I’m pretty sure we were both nervous and laughed like crazy the entire time!
